We are delighted to advise that Rachel Qi, the Co-Chair of the China and New Zealand Business Council, has agreed to be our next guest speaker.
Rachel will provide insights into the relationship between New Zealand and China, this country’s largest trading partner.
China ($15.3 billion) is New Zealand’s top export destination followed by Australia ($13.9 billion). Furthermore, China is New Zealand's second-largest international visitor market (with over 430,000 visitors) and most valuable in terms of holiday visitor spend.
Given the importance of the relationship between our two countries, how much should we read into reports of ‘tensions’ in our relationship with China?
Rachel is well-placed to provide an informed perspective on the China/New Zealand relationship.
She is a cross-cultural marketing professional with extensive business experience both in New Zealand and China. She is credited with creating powerful and profitable trade and cultural linkages between those two countries and has a particular interest in marketing, education, business development, project management, and stakeholder communication.
Rachel is actively involved in the China and New Zealand Business Council (Co-Chair), Pacific Culture and Arts Exchange Centre (Chief Executive), Multicultural Council of Wellington (President), New Zealand China International Trade Association (Vice President) and New Zealand - China Film Festival (Chief Executive).
The set menu lunch is $25.00 inc. GST per person.
We hope that you can join us on Tuesday 2 July 2019.
